Best areas to stay in Porto

Cedofeita

Family friendly location,  close to the main city attractions but quieter/slower than most other areas of Porto.

Matosinhos sul

This is not central, but it’s lovely for kids and it has a metro that goes directly to the centre.

Rua de Santa Catarina

This is the most popular shopping road in Porto, very central and it’s a pedestrian street whilst being close to the church of San Antonio de los Congregados.

Ribeira

The most famous neighbourhood in Porto that is hands down a result of its picturesque colourful houses, as well as the fact that it is located by the riverside. Whilst you are close to many attractions keep in mind that it is rather hilly.

The Yeatman Hotel

A great family-friendly hotel that offers baby sitting services and a kids’ club. Upon arrival, kids also get a free colouring book. Restaurants in the hotel also offer a kids menu. A bonus is that this hotel is situated in a quiet location which is not far off from the city centre.

These are apartment hotels in Porto that were primarily designed for families. Each suite includes a kitchenette which may come in handy when travelling with kids.

This kid-friendly and cheap hotel is located very close to the railway Ponte Sao Joao Bridge.

This is a holiday rental situated very close to Dom Luis 1 Bridge and ribeira square.
