Many family-friendly attractions are open at that time too.
The summer months are usually very crowded and are not advisable for families. But if you’d be going around that time, booking accommodations and activities in advance is advisable to ensure a smooth and enjoyable visit.

Ride The Funicular
Ride the funicular to the viewing point and walk the way down. The hiking path is really nice there. It takes about 1 hour to get down to Hallstatt and you have beautiful views on the way.
Take a Boat Ride
You could also take a boat ride when in Hallstatt with children. Take the wooden boat Navia (that’s typical one for the Salzkammergut area).

Located in the town center. The owner of the shop makes wooden crafts and schnapps tasting (for parents) is also available there.
