The Best Time to Visit Odense with Children
When visiting with children, it’s recommended to visit during fall break (week 42) or during the Christmas period.
Both in summer and for fall break, there are lots of activities for children.
Most of the annual festivals take place in July and August.
Christmas is a huge event in Odense and the city is decked out in many twinkling lights and decorations.
How to Get to Odense with Children
You can travel to Odense by plane, train, bus, or you can do a self-driving holiday.
The airport is located just 10 km north of the city, and the train station and bus terminal are right in the city centre.
Must Dos When in Odense with Children
The special children’s section of this museum is called Ville Vau, and this is where the younger visitors can spend hours playing and creating (recommended from 2-12).
Both require booking in advance.

Take a dip at Odense Harbour with children. The design bears a resemblance to a ship, complete with a deck and cabin, ensuring easy identification. The swimming pool is open all year round but closed on 2 days – 25th December and January 1st.

For over 30 years, the H.C. Andersen Parade has graced the Fairytale Castle stage in the enchanting Eventyrhaven (Fairytale Garden) with their captivating performance. This usually takes place end of June-beginning of August.
