Insider Tips
Culinary Treasures
You simply must indulge in the ensaimada, a culinary treasure. But to truly embrace the spirit of an authentic ‘Palmesan,’ take your time sipping on a “Laccao” (a typical Mallorcan drink blending milk and cocoa) while seated comfortably at one of the city’s charming terraces. And don’t forget to treat yourself to a “llonguet,” the tasty typical bread roll of Palma that will delight you with truly delicious sandwiches.
The Sant Sebastià Festival
The biggest public festival in Palma held in January. Fireworks, dragons, giant costumed heads and “xeremiers” (musical events) take to the streets in honour of the patron saint of Palma.
Palma Nativity Route
When Christmas arrives in Palma, it brings with it all sorts of figures and ornaments. It is time for families to take to the streets. At the same time convents, churches and cultural centres exhibit their nativity scenes, some of them are real treasures.
The Palma City Council nativity scene is set in one the most emblematic places in the city, it’s also the most nostalgic without a doubt.
